First Responders Coffee & Connection

March 7 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

We invite all current and former police, fire, EMS, corrections, and 911 dispatch to join us for this First Responders Coffee & Connection event on Thursday, March 7th from 830-10am at the Forest Lake Floral Greenhouse. This is an opportunity to connect in a healthy way, with others who understand and are feeling the same or similar emotions with the recent tragic losses in Burnsville. The Invisible Wounds Project will provide coffee, a light breakfast, an opportunity for conversation, connection, and additional resources. A therapist(s) will be on hand to assist with the facilitation of the group.
Something we are hearing is that people are feeling like they are the “only ones” feeling angry, resentment, anxiety, and abandoned. We want to connect with people and help them understand that they are not alone in those feelings, and that they are normal. It’s important to connect, talk, and avoid isolating. This won’t be a 90-minute class on what you should and shouldn’t be doing, but we will briefly discuss some healthy options that we all can implement into our daily routines to help us improve our mental health.
This is free to attend. We will require an ID or proof of service so that this is a secure event. If you plan to attend, we ask that you please RSVP to Russ@IWProject.org so we can plan our supplies accordingly. If you don’t RSVP, you are still welcome to attend.
We will be hosting additional events in the future that we will open up to all of those that we serve. We appreciate your understanding as we restrict this event to first responders. As always, if you are struggling, please reach out to us for assistance.
